Nine students were selected for the NCDHHS IT Internship for the Fall Semester of 2017. They were the first interns at NCDHHS IT and its resulting success will allow the program to continue in the future. The scope of the work included:
i. Network infrastructure and configuration
ii. Server configuration and implementation
iii. Cybersecurity policy, process and procedure
The majority of the work relied on team projects. At the end of their experience, Interns learned the values of being an IT worker and how teamwork was essential to getting the job done. Overall both IT and the Interns were able to learn a lot from this internship, pathing new opportunities in the technical world.
