Bio:

Chris Morel, 17, is a senior at Heritage High School, has a 4.42 GPA and enrolled in the Gaming Art & Design Academy (GAD). He is a member of the Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), the National Honor Society of HHS and the National Honor Society for High School Scholars (NSHSS). He is in the Rising Scholar Program and is taking STEM focused Academics and Electives.  He is hardworking and determined.  He is the Lead Website Designer for the GAD and Co-Leader of the Bison Labs.  He is a key representative for GAD, works closely with the Director of the Academy, was a presenter for the Academy at HHS Open House and volunteered for freshman advisory.  He is Interning for NCDHHS IT and Job-Shadowed for Xpert Technology and Microsoft.  At Microsoft, he was able to join fellow senior classmates and first-hand experience a tech giant’s business setting. Chris works part-time at Harris Teeter. Working part-time has taught him the importance of customer service, how to positively resolve uneasy situations and how to work in a business and team setting. Chris volunteers for “Stop Hunger Now”.  This organization prepares over 40,000 meals at each event to help third world countries.   Additionally, Chris volunteers for local community organizations, is a member of the PTSA, takes part in the Graphics Club and volunteers for the Natural Sciences Organization. He is partnering with four other classmates, outside of class, in creating a video game.  Their Beta Test should be available at the end of September.  Chris seeks out opportunities. Chris is determined and dedicated toward his academic and career goals.
